Yuan came to me this morning for tutoring in literature, math and English. We started from reading poems, do some mathmatics and watching interact ABC together. To my surprise, instead of watching TV and asking for food as usual, he is not only ready for tutoring but also active listening and learning. He'd aske some good questions. So we extend our learning of eagles on google and drawing a fancy studying room for hisown. His studying room is quite creative and fiscinating. Therefore, I share my experiences of creating my own room and decorating design so that he'd have an idea of thinking his future room.
His mathmatics is not as worse as i think. Actually, he has made a great improvment in caculation but still not thoughtful enough. In terms of Enghlish, his vocabulary and grammer are poor so that he can't make right sentences. Many things need to be done. Gratefully, he is willing to speak and practice though a bit stammer.
He reminds me of my imagination long ago. To create a space where mothers can have tea time while in a glass room their kids are learning and playing guided by a volunteer tutor from any aspect, such as painting, digital design, story-telling, photographing, lego creation.....we share what we have known to young kids and share an afternoon time for free as well.
